Little Cutie – New born photographer Winnipeg

Friday evening we traveled to Winnipeg to do a shoot of this little cutie.  Lory & Richard were such proud parents and were very prepared for the arrival of their little girl… right down to the 32″ TV in her room for those long sleepless nights… which turns out they aren’t needing as she is sleeping almost through the entire night.  How lucky can you get:)

Here are a few of our favorites from the shoot.

YOU!!! – A Month of Gratitude

It is the last day of October and the last day of our Month of Graditude. We have had a lot of fun with this and in doing this have really come to realize how fortunate we are and how much we have to be thankful for.

Lastly we are thankful for YOU our clients! We have had so much fun getting to know all of you and being allowed into  your families lives and special moments.  We always consider ourselves so blessed to know all of you and to work with you.  We do so much more then just “take pictures” of you, we know that every moment we’re capturing are moments that can never be repeated again and means that we can never take our job lightly.  Thank you to all of our wonderful clients and friends that have given us the opportunity to work with them and to all the future clients out there.  We look forward to working with you all again in the future.  Thank you!

Home Made Ice Cream – A Month of Gratitdue

For me home made ice cream was always more then just having a dish of ice cream… it has always been an event.  Family and friends would come down and and we’d plan in advance who would bring the home made chocolate cake and who would make the home made chocolate sauce.  Often the chocolate sauce would be made as the ice cream was being made.  There was always lots of noise in the house because the ice cream freezer was not quiet but the instant the ice cream maker quit turning everyone would jump to their feet… the ice cream was ready.  Now you’re probably thinking what’s with these people???   Just relax you’ll get the ice cream:) The thing with home made ice cream though, if you’ve never had it, is that it melts really really quickly and the it’s best eaten, well, right away.  That’s why it was always an event.  You need a bunch of people around to finish 4L of ice cream in one sitting.

Recently I’ve gotten a small ice cream maker that will make about 4 bowls of ice cream, it’s quiet, you don’t need to get snow from outside and well you can make it any old time.  I miss the old way of making ice cream … not because I miss the extra work or mess of doing it but I just loved the atmosphere that surrounded it.  Honestly I think that’s what made the ice cream taste so much better.

Facebook, Internet & Technology – A Month of Gratitude

Ok well this could a long post but I’ll try to control myself:) Technology is a great thing, when it’s working for you.  When computers aren’t working and are down  (relates to PC users only:)) it can be very frustrating, but when everything is working technology is great.  It has totally shrunk our world as of late, especially with Facebook being on the scene.  Facebook, can “waste” a lot of time but its a great connecting point as well.  I’ve virtually connected with a lot of people from years past which is really cool and a nice way to stay in touch at least to some point.  The internet shrinks the world tremendously as well, back in the days of film we would send our rolls of film to local labs in Winnipeg for all of our work.  We still do most of our work with in the province but we frequently send out book designs to Italy for printing, or California.  It really doesn’t matter any more where labs are located the files get there in minutes regardless of what part of the world they are from.  I love what technology has done for us, we can post videos to Youtube from our table at a restaurant or while we’re on a trip there are no limits to what’s possible anymore it seems.

And yes our kids have it all covered here… theres an iPad, iPhone and an iPod being used… they love playing games on these devices and it’s amazing to watch them learn math and spelling skills on here as well.

Bumps – a Month of Gratitude

We all have bumps in our road of life.  These bumps sometimes make us trip and even make us fall….sometimes flat on our face. Even though I get frustrated and crave the  smooth road, I am thankful for these bumps.  These bumps  create experiences that  make us grow and become stronger. We come out richer and better for it in the end. It is so difficult to see it while we are in the midst of cloud  but we need to keep faith that we can make it through knowing God has a better plan for us. I am thankful for bumps.

xo love you Kate. Thanks for the cute symbolic picture.:)
